We are pleased to announce that the deadline for submission of short videos* of artists/craft persons with disability explaining their craft skills, their disability and things they produce, has been extended from 9th April 2018 to Monday 25th June 2018.

The extension of the submission deadline follows the postponement of the Webinar which was initially scheduled to take place at 1.15pm GMT and on the Facebook page by 5.00pm GMT on Thursday 13th April 2018. It will be held one week after the new submission deadline, on 5th July 2018. The winner of the Galaxy S III mobile phone will now be announced during a Webinar and conference of crafts persons with disability in London.

The Southern African Federation of the Disabled (SAFOD) is working with Loughborough University in the United Kingdom to help crafts people in Southern Africa in making your craft items, link them with other crafts people Internationally and also those who may want to buy your work.

We would like persons with a disability, (for example if you use a wheelchair, have visual impairment or learning difficulties, etcetera), who make craft items to sell, to send us a video that explains:
• who you are,
• where in the world you live,
• the cultural heritage of your community; and ,
• the artefacts you make.

How to enter

Those interested can make their video on their phone, using a camera or a video camera. Please ensure we can clearly see and hear you.
We would prefer the entry to be in English, but will accept any local language.

Please put the following details:
• Your name

Judging will take place over the following days:
